Russian State Medical University (RSMU) currently has an approximate of 500 Malaysian students and counting as the years go by.

The Malaysian Student Annual Dinner (MASSAD) is a yearly event organized by the 2^nd year Malaysian students since 2006.

Originally, MASSAD was just an event to bring unity among the Malaysian students and honor the 6^th year graduates heading home as medical doctors.

However throughout the years MASSAD has evolved to bring on a more challenging and meaningful role to students here in RSMU.

Today the purpose of MASSAD is to:

• Honour the 6^th year graduates.
  
• Award the best of Malaysian students of RSMU in their respective fields.
  
• Give an opportunity for Malaysian students to gather and socialize with each other.
  
• Unite the heart and soul of Malaysian students of RSMU as one.
